Unit of Inquiry

• Students continued practicing for their summative performance in groups.
• Guest lecture on performance strategies by Aric and Sunjoy from Terrence Lewic Dance institute.

Language Arts

• Students chose a free verse poem that they wanted to publish. They revised, proofread and published their poems.
• Read to self.

Math

• Math revision

• Students researched on dances of their choice.
• Students analysed Chinese fan dance and Chinese sword dance using  BASTE.
• Guest lecture on belly dance by Ms.Malvika Kathpal.

Math

• Recap of quadrilaterals and parallelogram.
• Introduction to polygons- regular and irregular.
• Introduction to different types of triangles- equilateral, scalene, isosceles and right angle.
• Students composed 2D shapes.
• Introduction to 3D shapes with the help of foldify app.
• Assessment of time and calendar.

Literacy

• Mini lesson on personification.
• Mini lesson on free verse.
• Students started writing free verse poems by using the writing process.

Unit of inquiry

• Guest lecture and performance on classical Indian dances like Bharatnatyam and Kathak by Ms.Shilpa Karmarkar.
• Students discussed and analyzed the Indian classical dances using  B.A.S.T.E.
• Guest lecture and performance by Ms.Melissa on western dance like ballet.
• Dance performances by students in groups: In groups the students were given an emotion to express through dance. They used B.A.S.T.E. to analyze performances.
• Students were shown a video on dances around the world. They chose a dance form that they wanted to research on.

Math

• Summative assessment of area and perimeter.
• Introduction to angles- right angle,acute angle and obtuse angle.
• Recap with the students of time to the hour, half an hour, quarter to , quarter past.
• Introduction to the concept of elapsed time.

Literacy

• Introduction to haiku poems.
• Students used the writing process to draft their own Haiku poems.
• Mini lesson on simile and metaphor.
• Read to self.
• Literature circles.
