Weekly Update ( 26th to 30th October)

Important information: Dress rehearsal for the concert is on 2nd November.


Grade 3 concert is on 3rd November at 9:30 am in the 7th floor auditorium!!!


Unit of Inquiry

  • Students started working on their summative task. They brainstormed ideas for an invention/innovation.
  • Students worked on their summative reflection sheet and posters.
  • Students attended a guest lecture by an astronaut Dr.Don Thomas.
Language Arts
  • Students chose a writing piece that they would like to publish.
  • Students revised and proofread their chosen fictional narrative. Conferring with teachers was done.
  • Students worked on publishing their fictional narrative.
Math
  • Students practiced two step word problems.
  • Students were introduced to word problems with irrelevant information.
  • Students practiced rounding off and estimating word problems.
Other activities: Halloween celebration in the class!!!

Weekly Update ( 19th Oct to 21st Oct)


Unit of Inquiry

  • Students work on the app Timeline 3D.
  • Guest lecture by Mr.Pritam.
Language Arts
  • Mini lesson on interjections and onomatopoeia.
  • Discussion on character traits.
  • Read to self and read with someone.
  • Students continue working on prewriting and drafting stages of fictional narrative.
Math
  • Solving word problems with the help of Math Mountain.

Weekly Update ( 12th-15th Oct)


Unit of inquiry

  • Students chose an invention they would like to research on. They framed questions and did research in the class.
  • Students reflected back on their research.
  • Introduction to maps.
  • Field trip to Sanjay Gandhi National Park.
Language Arts
  • Mini lesson on action and helping verbs.
  • Students worked on prewriting and drafting stages of fictional narrative.
  • Students made a presentation on their book study ( integration with UOI).
  • Introduction to spelling strategies.
Math
  • Introduction to coordinates.
  • Students continued to practice subtraction with borrowing.
  • Introduction to math mountain. 
Other Activities:
  • Health check up by 'Health Spring'.
  • Uploading of student's work on Seesaw.

Weekly update: 5th Oct to 9th Oct

Unit of Inquiry

  • Students learn about continents and oceans.
  • Students in pairs discuss their land explorers and use a Venn diagram to compare explorers.
  • Students inquire into the difference between discovery and invention.
  • Book study ( integration with language arts): students in their groups do book study on a particular exploration and reflect on it. 
  • Students are introduced to timeline and discovery of fire,invention of wheel,invention of money.
  • Introduction to maps.
Language Arts
  • Students continue with read to self and reading challenge.
  • Book study related to exploration in groups.
  • Students learn about 'describing words' .
  • Students start prewriting and drafting phase of their first fictional narrative.
Math
  • Students learn about associative and commutative property of addition.
  • Students are introduced to different strategies to do subtraction with borrowing.
Other Activities: 
  • Students upload their selected reading pieces on seesaw.
  • Lesson by Ms.Kruti Goradia related to 'Health Week'

Weekly Update ( 27th Sep to 1st Oct)

Unit of Inquiry


  • Unpacking of the central idea by the students and they wrote about their understanding of the same in their notebooks.
  • Students watched the movie ' Cast Away' and did a reflection of the movie.
  • Guest lecture by Mr.Gaurav ( Junglelore).
  • Discussion in the class on 'reasons for exploration'. 

Language Arts
  • Students identified the different story elements and made a mind map on 'plot'.
  • Students were introduced to 'Fictional Narrative' genre.
  • Students did read to self / read to someone and reading challenges during reading time.

Math
  • Students continued to learn about line graphs (interpreting and marking)
  • Students were introduced to addition word problems and the strategies to solve them.
